About Bob Conrad
Bob Conrad is the president and CEO of Verticle Change and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. Bob started Verticle Change to fill a critical gap in healthcare to ensure organizational strategies and initiatives could be implemented with speed and quality results. Bob has a passion for healthcare organizations and understands the complex challenges healthcare practitioners face every day.
Early in his career while working at DuPont, he observed challenges senior management faced when implementing new processes. These experiences motivated Bob to pursue a degree in industrial-organizational psychology. His research centered on understanding key factors that drive organizational change and which tools would encourage building both an awareness and desire for change in complex organizations. This motivated Bob to further his education and become a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
Bob has assisted large healthcare systems to achieve a range of $2M to $20M in combined savings and improved net margin. He is the go-to person for large healthcare system CEOs that struggle trying to turn around key departments in their organization. Bob has experience in Ambulatory, Operating Rooms, Pharmacy, Inpatient/Outpatient units, Revenue Cycle, Supply Chain, IT, and EHR implementations within healthcare. Bob has also worked with large healthcare insurance organizations that include hospital system health plans and Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Bob’s knowledge and experiences in change management and Lean have led to successful projects in a variety of industries: Hi-Tech Manufacturing (Nokia), Mining, Chemicals, Oil and Gas, and Financial Institutions.
